Several Manchester City senior players are facing the axe this week.
The Sunday Mirror says City stars face the humiliation of being left out of Pep Guardiola's squad for the Premier League and Champions League campaigns.
Guardiola must name his squads on Thursday and both competitions have a limit of 17 senior foreign players. With the arrival of Chile international keeper Claudio Bravo, the Blues now have 19 imports.
That means two from Samir Nasri, Eliaquim Mangala and Wilfried Bony — who cost the club a total of £95million — will have to be excluded.
And with Joe Hart also deemed surplus and available for loan, the Blues face the prospect of paying £500,000 each week in wages to players new manager Pep Guardiola doesn't want.
