Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure is battling to make Ivory Coast's World Cup opener with Japan on Sunday.

Toure has not been able to complete a full training session with his team-mates since undergoing surgery last month.

"We will try and do everything to ensure he can play him," coach Sabri Lamouchi told reporters on Tuesday.
