Man City midfielder Milner rejects Scholes "arrogant" claims

Manchester City midfielder James Milner has dismissed criticism from Manchester United legend Paul Scholes.

Scholes branded City arrogant during victory over United on Sunday.

Milner, whose side are preparing for a crunch Champions League clash with CSKA Moscow tonight, has denied the accusation.

He said: "We go out there with a game plan, and if we hit our standards we can beat anyone - we have proved that.

"We have not been at our strongest over the last few weeks, and the players know that.

"It is down to us to change that, and this win [over United] will go a long way to changing it. We didn't play as well as we can but it was all about the win.

"We can improve performance-wise but it was all about getting a win and tonight is the same.

"We have to get three points and if we play to our level we will."
