Manchester City midfielder James Milner is delighted for Newcastle United defender Steven Taylor over his England call.

Milner and Taylor played together at St James' Park earlier in the Whitley Bay lad's career.

And Milner has no qualms about his involvement: "He's playing well or he wouldn't be here - he deserves his chance.

"He's had injury problems but he has been working hard.

"But he's earned his place and he's raring to go.

"I've spoken to him about the work he's been doing."
