Manchester City midfielder Leroy Sane admits manager Pep Guardiola offered him no excuses when he first arrived.

In the summer of 2016, Sané switched from Schalke 04 to City for €50m.

Sane told Sky Deutschland: "He criticised me from the beginning. He showed me where to improve. And every time I made a mistake, he said, 'You should try it this way'. And then, trying it the way he said it, I realized it helped me.

"Before I came here, of course, I already heard that he is a good coach. But when you actually work under him, you realize, wow. He can really help me. He makes the game easier for you. It makes it easier to hold the ball and see where your teammates are."
