Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan thinks that cross-town rivals Manchester United will be City's main title rivals this season.

The Germany international believes that United have become a formidable force in Premier League following their acquisition of Romelu Lukaku from Everton.

"Hopefully us. We will definitely try," Gundogan told ESPNFC when asked about the favourites for the Premier League. "We will try to do our best and achieve all of our targets and hopefully lift the trophy.

"United did a good job by signing Lukaku. They have a good team ... a young team as well. They are strong, really physical, so they seem to be better than last year."
