Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan won't hear criticism of manager Pep Guardiola.

City face Southampton on the back of a four-match winless run.

“I was quite sure and very convinced this was right for me. The first weeks have proven it and I'm very happy," said Gundogan.

“Pep Guardiola is tactical, always takes care of details and wants to show you how to do everything. Playing for him has lived up to expectations.

“I knew him from the Bundesliga and saw him coaching Barcelona when everyone saw an excellent manager who is able to get players to improve.

“He is a great personality and a very nice guy. I'm very happy to learn from the best."
