Man City midfielder Fernandinho: Sunderland result inspired title run

Manchester City midfielder Fernandinho admits their draw with Sunderland sparked their Premier League title victory last season.

After the 2-2 stalemate with Sunderland, which came three days after defeat at Liverpool, Fernandinho branded the result a "disaster".

Now he sees that moment as a rebirth rather than the death of their dreams.

"After Sunderland I gave some interviews when I said it was a complete disaster for us - but I've changed my mind. It was a good result," he told City's end of season DVD.

"They were a very good, aggressive team. They showed it against Chelsea and Man United away. I started to change my view. In the other games we did our job. It made our team stronger. We were more together and that was the difference to win the title."
