Fernandinho admits he moved to Manchester City to make Brazil's World Cup squad.

Fernandinho has an extra incentive to produce on the biggest stage with a World Cup looming in his own country next summer.

He has just a handful of caps for his country. But he said: "It's all very close and the time passes quickly.

"Everybody is getting ready for this great event. I hope next year everything can go smoothly and I can play for my country after starring for my new club."
