Man City midfielder Delph not listening to Aston Villa boo-boys

Fabian Delph is not paying attention to criticism from the Aston Villa fans following his controversial move to Manchester City.

Delph caused a furore among the Villa fans after electing to join City for £8million just days after pledging his commitment to the West Midlands outfit.

The England international has understandably come under intense abuse from the Villa faithful following the move to the Etihad Stadium but the midfielder is not paying attention to his critics and has stated that the reason behind the sudden change in heart was due to his family priorities.

The 25-year old said: "Anything and everything that has been said I've not seen. I keep myself well away from it. All I do is focus on my family, playing well and helping my teammates. That's what I've continued to do all my career.

"To be honest, the week I didn't travel away my wife was expecting so there was a lot more to think about than football. My family comes first and I was basically sitting there waiting for my daughter to be born.

"Obviously in the back of my mind there was a decision to be made and I'm a City player now. I'm happy and ready to go."
