Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva is adamant their Champions League defeat to Lyon will only be a blip.
City opened our European campaign on a disappointing note by slipping to a 2-1 defeat at the hands of the French visitors.
Bernardo admitted: “We have to focus on a poor first half when we weren't at our best. We didn't press with our usual intensity.
“We were not good enough tonight. It is what it is. We didn't want to start this way but that's the way it is. We have to go after the next game.
"We are not favourites. We have a good team and want to do well in the competition and we will try to do better than last season."
England central defender John Stones admitted City had paid the price for a disappointing first half display but said there was still all to play for in Europe.
"(It was) Really disappointing. To concede two goals like we did is very frustrating," Stones admitted.
“We came in at half-time a bit deflated. We picked ourselves up and played a better second half but it was frustrating.
"It is the first game. Still early days. We put pressure on ourselves. There is no outside pressure. We know our strengths and weaknesses.
“We go again in the next game. There are still a lot to play and we should be positive about that."
