Man City midfielder Bernardo Silva: The secret to Guardiola's system success...

Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva admits he enjoyed his first season under manager Pep Guardiola.

Silva signed for the champions a year ago from AS Monaco.

He told France Football: "With Pep Guardiola, I learned something else. Press high, be well positioned, closest to the opponent's box. Because when you recover high, you have less effort to make in the offensive construction. But you have to have the players to do it, players who want to squeeze and get the ball.

"The important thing is to do things quickly and well, in a synchronised way. The biggest thing is communication on the ground. To make yourself available, understand each other. Know exactly what to do, too.

"Guardiola insists a lot on this, including from a mental point of view. Know how to react when you concede a goal, know how to manage the adrenaline when you score one, how to drive the nail. To know how to manage the strong moments and the weak moments, this is it."
