Man City midfielder Barry not thinking of England retirement

Manchester City midfielder Gareth Barry isn't thinking of England retirement.

Barry did make the squad for the European Championships, but was forced to withdraw after limping out of a pre-tournament friendly with Norway with a groin injury.

Since his return, he has made five appearances for Man City but is yet to receive a call to join teammates James Milner, Joe Hart and Joleon Lescott in the England squad.

"I am not ready to retire yet and will just keep working hard," he said.

"I am not going to say too much, I just want to work hard to get back. It is tough sometimes to force your way back in, but I have experienced it before.

"I'm confident that when the call comes, the manager knows what I can do and I'm sure that if there's a space for me I will be called upon."
