Manchester City boss Sven Goran Eriksson has made an offer for CSKA Moscow striker Jo Alves.

The Mirror says Eriksson has wasted no time getting back into the transfer market with a £15.7million bid for Brazilian striker Jo.

After looking at CSKA Moscow's Brazilian trio Vagner Love, Jo and Daniel Carvalho in January, City have tabled an offer for Jo.

The 20-year-old came close to joining Valencia in the first transfer window of 2008 before the deal fell through.
