Man City may keep Santa Cruz over Balotelli injury concerns

Roque Santa Cruz could be staying at Manchester City.

The Paraguay striker has been actively pursuing a transfer away from Eastlands for some weeks.

But The Sun says City have knocked back Blackburn Rovers' bid to take Santa Cruz back to Ewood Park on loan amid fears Mario Balotelli's knee injury could keep him out for a further two weeks.

Italian striker Balotelli, 20, has already missed two games and will find out today if he needs a minor operation.

Rovers enquired about a loan move for Santa Cruz, 29, but City will hold out for a £5m permanent deal for the Paraguayan.
