Man City manager Guardiola tells Mourinho to quit moaning about referees

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has told Jose Mourinho to quit whinging about referees after his side dominated Manchester United in their 2-1 win at Old Trafford on Sunday.

The Sky Blues notched a recored 14th consecutive win and extended their lead at the top of the table to 11 points.

Jose Mourinho vented his frustration following the match, believing United should've been awarded a penalty after Ander Herrera went down inside the box under a challenge from Nicolas Otamendi.

But Guardiola believes his side deserved the win regardless of the referee's decisions.

Asked about Mourinho's complaints, the Spaniard said: "Last season it was the same – we won here and it was the referee. Today as well.

"Yesterday he spoke about the referee. We are an honest team. We had 75% ball possession, which means we wanted to play. We came here and did that.

"We won in Old Trafford again, that is why I am the most pleased and of course for the three points. We played good, with a lot of courage. I'm so satisfied.

"We won because we were better. We are still in December, if we have 11 points when we play the second derby in April then maybe I will tell you that we have the title."
