Pep Guardiola cannot believe the amount of money being spent in the transfer window.
Ironically, the Spaniard's own club, Manchester City, are the chief perpetrator of this excessive spending, having splurged £219m already this summer, with more than a month to go in the transfer window.
When asked about the prices being spent, Guardiola said: "It's a lot. Maybe one day it's going to stop, we will see.
"I could not imagine two or three years ago that people would pay £100m or £120m for one player.
"Now it's happened and it's going to happen more."
City have spent more than £125m on fullbacks alone, having brought in Kyle Walker from Tottenham, Danilo from Real Madrid and Monaco's Benjamin Mendy.
However, the Spaniard has defended the purchases, blaming the market for the inflated fees.
"I would like to pay less for the club, but the market is the market," he added.
"We had four full-backs and Manchester City didn't invest in a full-back for the last seven years. All four were 31 or 32 and we decided to make the squad younger."
