Manchester City management know they face a massive task to lift the club's global profile.
City face an even bigger challenge than rivals Chelsea and Manchester United simply because - outside of the UK - they remain a club with a relatively low profile.
"We know why that is and we know what we have to do to change it," City's assistant coach Brian Kidd told the Daily Mail.
"It is all about putting silverware on the sideboard. If we can do that, then the word spreads. If we do that then people in other countries will soon begin to realise and recognise who Manchester City are. If we don't then it is harder."
