Manchester City are chasing Atletico Madrid striker Diego Forlan.
The Daily Mail says City boss Mark Hughes has made progress on luring the former Manchester United forward back to the city for next season.
Forlan won Spain's Golden Boot ahead of Barcelona striker Samuel Eto'o this season.
