Manuel Pellegrini believes his Manchester City side always dominates against Chelsea.
The Sky Blues scored an impressive 3-0 win over the reigning Premier League champions at Etihad Stadium on Sunday in what City boss Pellegrini felt was a commanding triumph over Jose Mourinho's men.
"We always dominate Chelsea," Pellegrini told Sky Sports.
"Not just today. Last season we drew and when we won the title we lost, but we always dominate Chelsea.
"We didn't give them any chances to counter attack. They are a very dangerous team. They defend near their box and have very fast attacking players. If you give them space, it's very difficult."
But Pellegrini was quick to state that win will mean nothing unless City can continue on in this vein for the rest of the 2015/16 campaign.
"In football, nothing is significant until the end of the season," he added.
Goals from Sergio Aguero, Vincent Kompany and Fernandinho did the damage as City kicked off the season in fine form, adding to their 3-0 win at West Bromwich Albion on Monday night.
