Manchester City will challenge Chelsea for FC Porto defender Nicolas Otamendi according to The Express and O Jogo.
The reports suggest that Manuel Pellegrini is a big fan of the 25-year old Argentina international and may push for his services in January.
Chelsea have been showing interest in Otamendi recently, as well as his Porto teammates Eliaquim Mangala and Jackson Martinez, but now City have joined the race for the former Velez Sarsfield star.
