Man City make fresh contact with Scolari

Manchester City are pushing on with a bid to land Portugal coach Luiz Felipe Scolari.

The Times says Scolari is thought to be demanding £3.9million a year to take over as manager from Sven-Goran Eriksson.

City have offered Scolari a package worth £3.2million a year, but despite making another approach to the Brazilian last week, they are reluctant to offer an improvement on those terms and want an answer by the end of the month.

Scolari has been told by representatives of Thaksin Shinawatra, the City owner, that the club may stick with Eriksson.
