Manchester City are closing in on AS Roma midfielder David Pizarro.
City boss Roberto Mancini had said he was not expecting any new arrivals at the Etihad Stadium this month.
However, he also conceded he would like to bolster his midfield and now a deal for Chilean ace Pizarro has emerged.
The likes of Juventus, Genoa and Zenit St Petersburg are all keen on the 32-year-old, but a move to City would be a huge lure for the South American.
Now Sky Sports understands that City are holding talks about a possible deadline day switch for Pizarro.
