Manchester City are looking to replace star man David Silva with Borussia Dortmund youngster Julian Weigl, according to reports from Calciomercato.
Silva has been a key figure for City in recent seasons but nonetheless, reports have emerged that manager Pep Guardiola could look to dispense with the services of the Spanish international during the January transfer window.
Reports in Italy indicate that Guardiola has already shortlisted a number of players to pursue as a direct replacement for Silva and is allegedly considering a move for Dortmund star Weigl.
The Spaniard knows the 21-year-old German well from his time spent with Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga and is believed to be plotting a winter swoop for his services, with Silva perhaps on the way out, as he strives to put his own stamp on the City squad.
