Manchester City legend Joe Royle is convinced they can win the Premier League this season.
The former City striker and manager is hailing his old club as the biggest challengers this season to bitter rivals Manchester United.
Royle is as excited as anyone about the new generation of "Galacticos" at boss Roberto Mancini's disposal.
He doesn't think, either, that the Italian will have a problem keeping his superstar squad happy despite an overload of class in every department.
Royle told the Daily Star Sunday: "I never had this problem. The most I ever spent on a player was £5million for Andrei Kanchelskis when I was at Everton. And, believe me, he played every week.
"But there won't be a problem for Mancini with rotation. Foreign players have a much better temperament and are accustomed to rotating squads.
"Mancini has the luxury of being able to say to one player, 'You're being rested this week but next week you're playing'. Foreign players don't have a problem with that.
"Then there's Yaya Toure in midfield who can play centre- back, too. He cruises around the pitch like an unstoppable juggernaut.
"It's so easy for him. He's almost getting the cigar out. What an all-round player he is. Add to that England's best keeper in Joe Hart and there's no doubting City are genuine title contenders.
"They've got a great chance. It's the best City side since 1977 when we finished runners-up to Liverpool. But this has been coming for a while."
