Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini is chasing Wolfsburg striker Edin Dzeko.
The Daily Star says City were keen on landing 6ft 3in striker Dzeko in the summer, but were put off by Wolfsburg's massive £50m asking price.
Mancini went on a £130m spending spree in the summer, but the Eastlands chief has already made it clear that he wants to pep up City's chase for a Champions League spot.
He believes he is two or three players short, with Dzeko high on his hitlist.
