Manchester City are planning a £17 million bid for Barcelona fullback Adriano.

The Daily Star says City boss Roberto Mancini is a known admirer of the Brazilian star and will do what ever it takes to bring him to the City of Manchester Stadium in January.

Mancini is desperate to add some international experience to his defence - who have conceded six goals in five games in the Champions League.
