Manchester City have made a bid for Porto defender Eliaquim Mangala. City boss Manuel Pellegrini refused to rule out bidding for a top class player this month.
Le Sport 10 says City have made a 45 million offer for the France defender.
A powerful centre-back, Mangala started life as a left back and is happy in either position and could prove a perfect replacement for out-of-favour defender Joleon Lescott should he leave.
