Manchester City Ladies have signed New Zealand midfielder Betsy Hassett, 23, on a one-year contract. Hassett, who represented her country at the 2011 Women's World Cup and the 2012 Olympics, played for German second-tier side Sand last year.

City Ladies will compete in the expanded Women's Super League for the first time in 2014.
