Manchester City kit manager Les Chapman is the man behind the players' messages on their under shirts.

Both Carlos Tevez and Samir Nasri celebrated scoring in Sunday's 3-2 win over Southampton at the Etihad Stadium by lifting their shirts to reveal a printed slogan on their official Umbro under-armour.

Nasri revealed a T-shirt with Muslim greeting Eid Mubarak written on it, while Tevez showed the latest reference to his native Buenos Aires.

They follow in the wake of Mario Balotelli, who famously posed the question: 'Why always me?' on his City T-shirt.

The Daily Mail says the printing - using the equipment normally kept by Chapman and his team for putting names on the back of shirts - marks a move on from the previous practice of scribbling slogans for the cameras with a felt-tip pen.
