Manchester City defender Ryan McGivern has won a surprise call-up to the Northern Ireland squad.

The 18-year-old left-back from Newry received his first call-up from manager Nigel Worthington after the withdrawal of a number of players from the panel.

McGivern was part of the Northern Ireland Under-20 Elite squad which recently won the Milk Cup event in Northern Ireland.
