Man City keeper Hart plays down hard-partying ways

Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart insists he is not a party animal despite two recent alcohol-fuelled incidents.

The 23-year old England gloveman has been sighted twice in the past few weeks in places he shouldn't have been, sparking plenty of media criticism.

Hart is aware that being a public figure makes him an easy target but concedes that he was indeed attracting far too much attention at a bar in Puerto Banus and then when out at a student party in St Andrews.

"You have to take it on (board) that people want to know who you are and what you're doing," he said.

"To be part of a club like Manchester City, you have got to be so professional on and off the field.

"Realising that you can't do what you want to do and can't be involved in certain things will help me realise the goal and move forward.

"I've always felt fine when I've turned up on a Saturday or on a Thursday or a Sunday, so, in regards to that, professionally I've been ready for every game.

"I don't think you have to live like a monk, but you have to be a bit smart about how you do it.

"The manager highlighted what's obvious for us all to see. You've got to be a bit more careful with your private life. He wants us all to be ultra professional.

"I'm just so lucky that he's letting me play all these games and I feel like I owe him good performances."
