Man City keeper Hart insist lack of England competition will not affect focus

Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart insists the lack of competition for the England No1 spot won't affect his concentration.

Hart was not at his best against the Swiss in England's last qualifier when Capello's side came back from two-down to draw 2-2 at Wembley.

He conceded a poor goal at his near post from a low free-kick.

Hart declared: "I was happy with the way I played but very upset with the two goals that went in. My preparation was right and there were a couple of quite important saves early in the game.

"I evaluate my performances myself and with my goalkeeping coaches but, other than that, it's on to the next game.

"I'm hard on myself but fair. There's no point beating yourself up for the sake of beating yourself up because everyone else is saying you've made a mistake.

"I know myself, I know my game and I know what my job is for the team. The last thing I want to do is let anyone down. If I feel I've done that, I'll sort it out. I'm quite a strong character."
