Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart admits his star jump save has been inspired by Manchester United legend Peter Schmeichel.

Hart revealed that he has copied the 'star-jump' save first perfected by ­Manchester United's Schmeichel.

He learned the skill training with Schmeichel's son Kasper when he first joined City from Shrewsbury, and said: "Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.

"It's only fair to say that I took the idea from Kasper.

"He introduced it to me and I also watched Peter do it a number of times.

"It seemed to work for him and it is something you need to use."
