Manchester City goalkeeper Shay Given will learn if he requires shoulder surgery this week.
The 34-year old suffered a shoulder injury at training during the week and was not on the bench as City smashed Notts County 5-0 in the FA Cup fifth round on Sunday.
City boss Roberto Mancini said that the Republic of Ireland international will see a specialist on London to determine whether he needs an operation which would likely end his season in which he has made just four appearances.
"He has a shoulder problem and next week he will go to the doctor in London to see if he needs surgery," Mancini said.
