Manchester City goalkeeper Shay Given was pleased with his clean sheet in their 0-0 draw at Birmingham City.
Given, who has been in impeccable form all season, saved a second half spot kick from James McFadden that ensured a point for a slightly off key City side.
"It is always nice to save a penalty. It is about the closest a goalkeeper gets to scoring a goal, I suppose," he told City's website.
"Sometimes you can study penalty takers and it can throw you off. It is best to rely on instinct, try and make a decision from the run up, and stick to it. Luckily for me it worked today but it is a lottery.
"Nigel de Jong was certainly relieved a man. I don't know what was happening with his handball but I don't think the referee had any choice but to award a penalty."
