Manchester City have informed two senior players they must wait for new contract talks.

The Sun says City bosses will hold talks with a number of players at the end of the season to discuss deals and contract extensions, including Vincent Kompany and Nigel De Jong.

But they are determined to keep David Silva, signed from Valencia for £23million in the summer of 2010, out of the clutches of the likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona, so will bring forward his negotiations in the coming weeks.
