Manchester City are stepping up their interest in Borussia Dortmund youngster Mario Gotze, reports talkSPORT. The 20-year-old last month revealed his admiration for Manchester United, although Roberto Mancini's side are hoping to tempt him to the blue half of the city.

And sources in Gotze's homeland claim City are readying a bid for the playmaker - although Arsenal are also keen on bringing him to England too.
