Manchester City insist the players are happy with news of a post-season tour of the US.
City are trailing United by 12 points and face growing competition from Chelsea and Tottenham to finish second in the table.
But City insist that most players have welcomed news of May's tour and are looking forward to spending a week in the US.
A club spokesman told the Daily Star: "I'm not aware of any players having had to cancel holidays, but at the end of the day they are contracted to the club so the tour will take priority.
"The feeling is that the squad are looking forward to going.
"It will be a relaxed trip because of the timing of it."
