Manchester City have joined Tottenham in the queue for Espanyol defender Victor Ruiz.
The 21-year old centre-half has emerged as a strong target for both English Premier League clubs with City set to step up their interest in the January transfer window.
City are also believed to be interested in Ruiz's teammate Pablo Osvaldo who has also attracted attention from Blackburn Rovers and Juventus.
Espanyol sporting director Ramon Planes knows there will be awareness of the pair but said he had received no calls regarding their future just yet.
"We would only consider deals with a formal offer but we haven't received anything yet," he said.
