Manchester City hope to sign within their means - by selling a raft of big money stars this summer.

Chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak has made clear that he doesn't see them making more than two or three new signings in the transfer window.

He hopes the club can grow at a steady rate, to allow the long-term recruitment of more top stars without contravening UEFA's Fair Play rules, which will limit the spending on players, says the Mirror.

City could just about finance two huge signings by selling the many players currently out on loan, with the likes of Emmanuel Adebayor, Wayne Bridge, Craig Bellamy and Roque Santa Cruz - along with peripheral figures such as Jo and Shaun Wright-Phillips - commanding some of the highest salaries in the Premier League.
