Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini is anxiously waiting for news on plans for a stunning double striker swoop.
The Sun says City are closing in on Seville’s Alvaro Negredo and Stevan Jovetic of Fiorentina in deals totalling more than £40million.
After yesterday’s defeat to Supersport United in Pellegrini’s first match in charge, the City boss said: “It’s difficult to say a date but before July finishes I think we will have more players.
“We are working hard for new players. We are not in a great hurry but it is clear we need two or three more players.
“It’s important we have a very good squad and I’m sure we will.”
