Manchester City favourite Jeff Whitley is back in football.
After ending his playing career in 2010, the 36-year-old has been running a car dealership in Stockport.
But he is now coaching at a development centre linked with League Two club Morecambe.
Whitley told the Manchester Evening News: "Coaching is totally different to being a player.
"If it was that simple all ex-pros would be doing it.
"I used to just turn up and train. I didn't realise how much effort goes into putting a session together. Now I watch the game in a totally different way. I wish I'd done my coaching badges while I was still playing.
"But it's not just the football aspect. I know how easy it is for young lads to go off the rails. Hopefully we can give them an opportunity that otherwise they might not have got."
