Man City have high hopes for shock debutant Abdul Razak

Manchester City management have high hopes for Abdul Razak.

Razak made a surprise debut in the 3-0 win over West Brom on Saturday.

The 19-year-old had made just one reserve appearance, in the midweek win over Bury, before the game against the Baggies but was thrown on for the last few minutes.

"He's a talent," said Platt. "He has trained with us on a regular basis, but it just happened today that we had two strikers on the bench in Jo and Edin Dzeko, so John Guidetti found himself in the stand.

"We didn't have many midfield players and I'm not too sure the gaffer would have thrown him on had the game been a bit tighter, but he has ability, no doubt about that."

Razak, who previously spent time with Crystal Palace, joined City last July.
