Manchester City have missed out on former Rome fullback Marco Motta.

Datasport says City had a deal with Roma to take Motta.

However, the Giallorossi lost the blind auction with Udinese, so the remaining 50 per cent of his contract went to the Friulani.

City also tried to sign Motta in January.
