Manchester City have gone cold on Benfica defender David Luiz.

The Daily Mail says City will not be moving for the Brazilian during the January transfer window.

Roberto Mancini this week confirmed his admiration of the 23-year-old, but is also pursuing £8m-rated Espanyol defender Victor Ruiz.

Benfica have already turned down a £17 million offer from Chelsea for Luiz.
