Manchester City remain keen on Arsenal defender Kolo Toure.
The Daily Mail says having been told last week that Arsenal would not sell defender Toure, City were encouraged to try again over the weekend.
They will move for Chelsea defender Alex if a Toure deal fails to materialise.
