Manchester City defender Shay Facey knows he faces an uphill task making it at the Etihad.
Facey penned a new two-year deal last week.
"It's not rocket science to tell how hard a task it will be to break into our first team and play regularly, but having a taste gives you that extra bit of hunger and desire to want another go at it.
"I've just signed a two-year deal, so hopefully next year will be my next progression - maybe a loan to get some first-team football," he told the Manchester Evening News.
