Manchester City defender Benjamin Mendy has spoken about his relationship with team-mate Bernado Silva and joked that Silva loves him more than he loves his own girlfriend.

The 23-year-old made his long-awaited return to action following a seven month absence and helped the Citizens claim a 5-0 win over Swansea City on Sunday.

The pair have a strong relationship and previously played together at Monaco, where they won the 2016-17 league title, before both moved to the Etihad Stadium last summer.

Mendy took to Twitter to talk about his relationship with Silva and said: "He loves me more than food [& his girlfriend],"

Silva re-tweeted the post and also paid tribute to Mendy.
