Manchester City fullback Benjamin Mendy has spoken of playing for Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa.
The pair worked together at Olympique Marseille.
And Mendy recalled to JDD: "One day, he said, 'We train until the sun is gone'. And we did it. Another time, we practiced badly. He picked up a ball and, looking at it, he said, 'Guys, all the work we do is for you. Videos, diet, sleep, everything is for you. You sacrifice your lives to train this badly?' His words never left me indifferent.
"When we worked in front of the goal, we were only allowed two balls each to make the habit of valuing the ball. (Andre) Gignac wanted more but Marcelo refused: 'In matches, you may only have one or two opportunities'.
"At the start, he was ready in the mind. Nothing escapes him."
